Agenda's Commitment to The Bribery Act - September 2011
Agenda is proud of the honest and ethical way in which it conducts business and in the commitment of its staff to uphold these values as they carry out their duties. This year some new legislation was introduced called the Bribery Act which places an onus on all organisations to ensure that their staff understand that bribery will not be condoned. THE BRIBERY ACT
The Bribery Act came into force in July 2011; its requirements underpin Agenda’s business culture of operating in an honest, fair and transparent way and in full compliance with all relevant laws and regulations. Agenda has included its commitment to the Bribery Act in company handbooks, policies and on our web sites. All staff have been made aware of these requirements and the guidelines produced by the Ministry of Justice and in particular the following key areas:
- Staff will not bribe or attempt to bribe another person or foreign public official,
- Staff must not accept a bribe or inducement from a third party and must report any such attempts to management,
- Agenda has raised awareness of these requirements with all staff to prevent or reduce the likelihood of a breach and to maintain the integrity of Agenda’s ethical and honest business relationships with all stakeholders, clients, candidates and suppliers.
- Besides any legal sanctions, staff proven to breach the requirements of the Bribery Act legislation will be dealt with under Agenda’s disciplinary processes.
The bottom line is that Agenda expects all employees to act in an ethical and honest way whilst carrying out their duties for Agenda. Agenda has never and will never offer or accept bribes or inducements in its business activities and expects all staff to comply with that requirement and importantly to report any concerns or attempts to bribe or coerce them or other staff members. It is highly unlikely that any of these issues will arise but it is important for Agenda’s employees, clients and other stakeholders to understand that there are processes in place.
