Proudly investing in our People - March 2011

As a provider of professional services Agenda recognises the importance of well trained, dedicated and motivated staff. We enrolled in the Investors in People programme in 2003 because is suited our ethos of continuous development and focus on our people. Our business philosophy is based upon providing excellent customer service and our latest two day intensive Investors in People audit proved that our long term strategic focus and investment in our staff and our customers is paying off. The auditor commended Agenda on meeting and exceeding the requirements of the Standard.

Emphasising the top level support for professional development the auditor wrote "There was substantial evidence of a supportive ethos from the directors ensuring that people were properly knowledgeable and skilled." and that "Leadership and Management had taken a high profile together with effective communication and a focus on delivering customer service training. These programmes were clearly linked to provide the best possible client experience from knowledgeable and skilled staff."

Norman (Director of Operations) said "As we grew we knew that we would have to work hard to maintain our culture and quality values, we have coordinated a number of training, development, mentoring and coaching initiatives that have enabled staff to feel valued and an important part of the operation. Having this externally audited confirmation that our investment in our people is having tangible benefits in terms of performance, motivation and customer service is greatly satisfying."

The final word goes to the auditor who noted how well our staff have picked up on the direct relationship between our customer focused strategy and the part they all play in it, he said "People have been encouraged to see how what they do day-today influences the service the organisation makes and how it impacts on the perceptions held by clients." Agenda is living proof that a long term strategy focused on the training and development of staff not only engages people and provides personal satisfaction but also reaps real business benefits. Given this successful audit result, the Agenda skills pledge and positive customer survey feedback, Agenda is continues to be committed to the continuous professional development of our people and our services.
